Question
My kitchen window faces north.  I live in the city of Chicago and would like to put some potted plants on my kitchen window sill.  Which ones would you suggest?

  Any kind of cactus, and there are 100s of varieties, philodendrons, ferns,snake-plant (Mother-In-Law's Tongue) & spider are a few.

   Be sure to start with "sterile" soil (topsoil from the hardware store is not sterile-may have insect larva-you don't want that!). I use "Soil Moist" (use sparingly) to maintain consistent moisture.  Fertilize according to each plants needs.
