Planting perennials around a sign

Question
Tom,
I'm looking for some 'colorful' landscaping design ideas for planting around a front entry sign (approx 4'x5')...  I'd like to make the sign stand out.
I'm thinking possibly lavender, knock out roses, shrubs...anything that you could suggest to complement each other.
Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Patty,
Thanx for your question.  I'm really not a designer or landscaper.  I'm not very artistic.  I just love growing plants. I think your idea of Knock-Out Roses and/or lavendar is good.  Small, trimmed boxwoods would highlight a sign neatly.  A perennial garden of purple coneflower, lilies, Russian sage, black-eyed Susans, coreopsis, hardy hibiscus (which are shrub-like) would all make interesting complements to your sign.

With that said, I invite you to consult with Allexpert, Landscaping/Design Experts.  Go to Home/Garden, Click on Landscaping and then Click on Landscaping and Design.

I hope this helps.
Tom
