Question
Yesterday I divided my daylilys. Wondering if I should cut them back to about 3 inches from the ground to let all the energy go to the roots?

Hi Darnell,
Thanx for your question.  I wouldn't cut the green leaves back until they start withering.  The leaves, while green are gathering energy from the sun which is stored in the rhizomes for next year's bloom and growth.  I hope this helps.
