wind damage

Question
Hi,i have a few clematis plant in my garden, clematis pink,dr,ruppel, miss bateman, barbara dibley. We had some very strong winds a few days ago and all my lovley plants have wind burn, they look real bad. What do i do now to help them back from the dead. Please help.Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jim,
Thanx for your question.  The best thing to do now for the plants is to keep them hydrated and mulched with some straw to keep their feet cool.  They'll recover.  Give them a side-dressing of well-composted manure to make sure they get enough nutrition to heal themselves.  I hope this helps.
Tom
