Question
We have a 12 ft steel carport that sits in the full sun.  What is a vine that will grow up it and be able to with stand full sun and the cold.  I live in Washington state and I think it is zone 5.  Also how do I plant it.  It is quite a large area- 24'.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you-Sue

Hi Sue,
Thanx for your question.  I always hesitate about recommending vines to cover things because they can get away from you and become a big, big problem.  However, here are some that will cover quickly and effectively.

Virginia creeper
Trumpet vine
Honeysuckle
