Hi again Gill, Daft question really, but would it benefit my potted plants if I introduced a few worms from the garden into the pots. any reasons that I shouldn't??

If your potted plants are indoors don't add worms - they'll die!!

However if they are located outside you may find that worms have already made themselves at home in your pots.  I don't know that they benefit the plants, but at least they don't seem to harm them!
