what are these things

Question
ive recently purchased a crate full of house plants from a local garage sale. i know that i have two hibiscus and some ivy, but i have these purple tinged plants that have almost a velvety texture, the woman i bought them from had no idea what they were, a friend had givin them to her. i was wondering how to care for them and whether they were poisonus or not.
thank you
lindsey

Answer
my guess (w/out seeing them) would be transendentia zebrina(wandering jew plant-red/pink flower) or purple passion vine(gets a yellow to orange foul smelling flower). very few plants are poisonous to the point that they would cause death. only a few would kill you if injested. most if poisonous would make you vomit.
the care is the same:  water by weight. put a saucer under the pot. water and let the plant sit in the excess water for 5-10 minutes.  after that time pour off any excess water in the saucer.  pick up the pot.  it should feel heavy.  don't water again until it feels considerably lighter in weight.  outdoors check the plant everyday. indoors check it every 5-10 days.  watering frequency depends on many factors(sun exposure, wind, day temps, etc.).
good luck.
