Low or no light conditions

Question
Will,

I'm writing from Kansas City, MO and I'm looking for a plant to
place in a bathroom on a shelf above the toilet. It's a 3/4 bath
on the second floor off a bedroom and has no windows.

The tempature may vary from 65 to 75 degrees depending on
the season.

Is there a plant that can survive such unfavorable conditions?

Thanks in advance,
-Tom

Answer
Hi Tom,

The only factor that is relevant is available light. If your bathroom has a fluorescent light that can be left on for 6 - 8 hours per day, then there are some plants that could make it. Otherwise, it is simply a matter of time before the plant gradually disintegrates due to lack of light.

A ZZ Plant might last for 6 months to a year in the situation you described.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
