cobra plant

Question
Hi guys, was to the openhouse, great setup this year by the way, didnt get to stay as long as i would have liked but i bought one of the small darlingtonias and in a couple of days it started turning a copper color.it seems to have died.had it inside out of the sun and waterd it with cool water.any ideas?

Answer
Hi Lynn,

Wish you had contacted us earlier if it died right after the open house.  We could have worked out a replacement.

One thing that comes to mind is that you radically changed conditions on the plant.  As you saw at our place they were outside, or in our glass greenhouse in full sun.  That same batch of plants is still there, and have been doing fine.  Darlingtonia can get fussy about having conditions changed on them.  It may not have like going into shady conditions indoors.  Still it would be unusual for it to have keeled over that fast.

Do you remember what where the plant was at when you picked it out?  Send me an e-mail via the website business contact.

Good Growing!
