SAD WEEPING FICUS :(

CAN YOU HELP POOR WEE BEN.??
only very small he is too young to die.
one day he was fine the next his new leaves were yellowing and some falling out.
the plant gets water quite frequently . he has never moved pots because hes too young i have used liquid fertilizer once he sits in a windowsill because its summer he has not moved.

whats the matter too much water too little ????????

Hi Jenny,

Ficus benjamina will drop leaves for numerous reasons. For example, every time they are relocated, they drop leaves. In addition keeping the soil too moist or too dry will cause leaf drop. So will pots that are too large and inadequate light.

To determine the specific cause for the leaf drop with your plant, I will need more specific information from you. A photo of the entire plant, including the pot would help enormously. If possible, send photos to my email address below.

In addition, I need to know the height of the tree, the width of the pot, when it was last repotted, its primary source of light (direction the window faces) and its distance from that source, and how frequently you water and how much you add each time. Is it planted in a shallow Bonsai planter or a regular pot? How long have you had it?

In the interim, stop fertilizing until it is fully recovered and growing vigorously.
