can the ficus lyrata be kept outside on a porch which get some direct sun?  
also, do you like the liquid fertilizer called dyna grow for a majesty palm that is 8 feet tall and inside by a sliding glass door?

Few people realize that the difference between indoor and outdoor light is enormous. If your porch is not enclosed, then the direct sunlight will burn the leaves of a Lyrata. If the porch is enclosed and the direct sunlight is filtered through glass or screening, then it would be okay for your Lyrata.

I like Dyna-Gro fertilizer products a lot more than I like Majesty Palms! Majesty Palms are very troublesome plants when used indoors in pots, but that's a different matter.

Dyna-Gro makes several different fertilizer formulations for different types of plants. All of them are good products because they include the essential micro nutrients as well and the macro nutrients that all plants require. For your palm and most foliage plants, I recommend the foliage formulation (Foliage-Pro 9-3-6 Tropical Foliage Formula) that can be found on their website. Please remember, fertilizer is intended for healthy plants that are growing vigorously. It is not medicine and should never be used on ailing plants.
