Massangeana Cane Pests

Question
My mom has got these Massangeana cane plants and they have these centipede looking bugs in them. She dosen't know what to do. And we can't find out what bugs they are. Please help.

Answer
Hi Wallis,

The centipedes are harmless to the plant, but I'm sure your mom doesn't want them in the house. There are pesticides that can be mixed with water and poured into the soil, but I don't recommend pesticides.

Try sinking the pot up to its rim in a tub filled with water. Leave it for about 30 minutes and the critters will abandon ship in search of air.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
