Does the Pothos plant require a water draining pot to grow? What if the pot does not have drainage?

It does if you want to guarantee it's health. If it is not in a pot with a drain hole you have to be extremely carefuland make sure you do not water it until it is very very dry and light weight. I suggest that you find a plastic pot that just fits in the pot without the drainage hole, then plant the pothos in the plastic pot and set it in the decorative pot.
That way if you accidently water it too much you can get the plastic pot out and drain the excess water and save the pothos. Good luck.
