Indoor Palm Tree with dead top

Question
My palm tree (not sure what type) is dead at the top, can I save it?  It's all dried out.  The tree is 20 ft tall and it's in a normal size rubbermaid trash can. I rescued it from a friend, but it had been out in appx 30 degree weather for a day or so.  Can I save it?

Answer
Hi Julie,

Sorry, but it is time to move your palm to a permanent trash can. Few palms can withstand temps as low as 30 degrees. Palms have only one growing tip and when that dies, the plant has no future. The dead top that you referred to is the growing tip and that is why there is nothing that can save it.
