Yellow Leaves After Watering

Question
I need help Darlene. Why do my house plants have yellow leaves a few days after watering?

Thank you
Ed
South Bend, Indiana.

Answer
Ed,

It is most likely that you are leaving them sit with a drain tray full of water and the roots can't breath so they can't feed carbon dioxide to the leaves and the leaves turn yellow and drop.

The other possibility is you let it get too dry before watering and it is a delayed reaction. The third possibility is that it is not getting enough sun.

To really answer your question I need to know what your watering habits are and what kind of plants we are talking about. If you don't know what plants you have you can email me pictures to [email protected] and I will figure out what you have. Good luck.

Darlene
