Watering my houseplant

Question
I have what I believe is a variation of a african violet and the leaves seem to be wilting. No discoloration at this time. Am I watering too much or not enough?

Answer
Hi Nancy,

If all or most of the leaves have wilted, then it is probably from the soil getting too dried out between waterings. If it is just the outer leaves that are soft, then it is probably because you are not waiting quite long enough between waterings, i.e. overwatering.

In general, AV's should be kept is small pots and should be watered thoroughly when the surface of the soil is very dry.
