zygo cactus - Christmas

Question
does zygo cactus/mylar like to be root bound

Answer
Hi Betty,

Like most plants and nearly all flowering plants, holiday cacti do best when tightly potted. In fact, they rarely need repotting and typically max out in a 6-inch pot.

Beware of any advice that suggests repotting every spring. Unnecessary repotting discourages flowers and substantially increase the risk of root rot, which is fatal.

I have written articles in holiday flowering plants and on repotting and I will be happy to email one or both to anyone who sends a request to my email address below.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
