Yellow spots on the leaves of a chevron plant

Question
I have had a chevron plant for several years. It's approx. 37" tall measuring from the soil surface. It' in a plastic pot, 13" across and approx. 10" deep. I recently changed potting soil about a month ago.
The leaves develop wellow spots from the outer edges which eventually turn brown and that part of the leaf dies. I water about once a month. The yellow spotting occured before the soil change also. What's causing this?

Answer
Hi Jay,

Chevron is not  botanical name nor is it a commonly used common name for a plant. You may be referring to a Persicaria microcephala 'Red Dragon,' but I cannot be sure. If so, that is not a plant that is used as an indoor potted plant.

Perhaps you have a better name for this plant or can e-mail a  photo to me at [email protected]. Then I can see what you have and maybe help you.
