Spots on my prayer plant

Question
It's me again
I have brown spots on the leaves of my prayer plants. What is this and what do I do to get rid of them?

Answer
Hello Melina,
If the brown spots have a yellow halo, then you have fungal leaf spot. First thing to do is to move the plant away from your other plants to keep the leaf spot from spreading to your other plants. Cut off all infected leaves, do not remove more than 1/3 of total leaves on the plant. Make sure the remaining leaves are kept dry as fungus needs moisture to reproduce. If you still keep getting new spots or more than 1/3 of the plant is infected then spray the leaves with a fungicide. I would recommend using a spray made from neem oil. Repeat treatment every 5 - 7 days until there is no sign of leaf spot. If more than 1/3 of the leaves are infected, remove the worst infected leaves up to 1/3 then wait until plant grows new leaves before removing any more leaves. Once a leaf is infected it WILL NOT recover, it will need to be removed.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
