Aloe plants

Question
I have an aloe vera plant that is pot bound and has 'pups, it has flowered indoors beautifully. I would like to know what happens to the stem when the flowers have died does it too die and drop off?

Thanks

Pam

Answer
Hi Pam,

Congratulations on your obvious success with your Aloe vera! Don't change anything you are doing and keep it potbound.

The flower stem will eventually whither and die without producing any more flowers. It is probably best to cut it off completely as soon as the flowers are spent because a flowerless stem is not very pretty.
