Coconut house plant.

Question
We purchased a coconut palm about a year ago and have done a really good job of killing it.  Our questions are 1) how much of the coconut should be in the soil (ours is about 1/8") and 2 with only one small frond still alive can it be saved?  Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Chuck & Trina,

I live in Northern Indiana so I haven't had any experience with a coconut palm. However I do beleive that if it has a green frond it can be saved with the proper knowledge. I did find the following website with good instructions at the bottom of the page for sprouting coconut palms from seed. I beleive that site will answer most of your questions. After reading it if you have more questions feel free to email my private address and let me know what state you live in so I will know your climate and I will be happy to answer your questions. I may need to do more research to find the answers but I  do now where to go to look for the answers. Good luck.
