need to id a plant

Question
i have a plant that is pretty much dead and would like to identify it and possibly purchase a new one.  we did not intentionally try to kill it.  i have no picture but it is an incredibly unique looking plant.  it's like little pearls or balls, pea-like maybe, and strings down like a vine.  no leaves.
i've been trying to find it on the internet and am having no luck.  might you be able to help?
thanks so much. suzi

Answer
Suzi,

The common name is string of pearls and the Latin name is Senecio rowleyanus. An excellent site about the care of the plant is at:

It needs to be treated like a cactus. Overwatering quickly kills it, I have done that in the past myself. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
