Answer
Hello John,

What brand of moss did you use and what kind of water are you using?

By now, Sarracenias should come out of dormancy and begin producing leaves. The two knife shaped leaves you saw may have been young pitchers attempting to develop, or phyllodia, which are winter leaves that Sarracenias produce to gather light in the winter. You should just leave them there so the plant can gather energy.

The crown of the plant should be just exposed above the soil surface. That is where new leaves will form. remove some of the moss from above the plant and let some light in and see what is there. Hopefully the plant is alive and just waiting for some light. Sometimes Sarracenias are sluggish in coming out of winter dormancy.
