Parsley Aralia

Question
Hi Darlene,

I have had this parsley aralia for 5 to 6 years now, and so far, it has not giving me much trouble. For the last 3 months I have noticed that its leaves turned lighter green and are softer to the touch.
I have not changed its location for the last 3 years, and I keep watering it the same way - once a week with some instant Shultz fertilzer. Do you have any tip on how to restore its darker healthier look?

Thank you so much for your reply,
Noelle

Answer
Noelle,

Something has changed to cause this color and texture change on your aralia. Did you change windows or drapes on the window? Have you repotted the plant? If you look very closely at the plant is there any sign of insects? Do you allow water to sit in the drain tray of the pot for mor than an hour after you water the plant? Did you get a new container of fertilizer about the time that things changed?

To green it back up give it a fertilizer with a high 1st # and make sure it says it has micronutrients including iron. Also move it to a location that it gets as much sun as possible from sunrise to sunset. It is a plant that loves the sun. Be very careful not to overwatrer it.  Goodluck.

Darlene
