Dipladenia

These splendid climbing plants, evergreen, are very appreciated for their fleshy green leaves and for their colorful abundant flowers and simplicity of its cultivation.
Its botanical name is Sander or Mandevilla splendens Dipladenia. Its name derives from the Greek “arch = double” and “Aden = gland” because of the presence of the two glands in the ovary.

The plant is native from Brazil (In Brazil it is also known as Jasmine) and Bolivia. It generally belongs to the family Apocynaceae Dipladenia including climbing plants or herbaceous perennial with a perceived probe originated from South American jungle where they grow up to 10 m high.

There are many species to be grown trough into the apartment, unless space is made available for their very extensive development.

Dipledania is appreciated for its very decorative leaves, colored in dark green, glossy, smooth, especially for its flowers colored in pink, red, white, depending on the species, trumpet-shaped, which bloom profusely throughout the summer, in the autumn being slightly scented.
