fish tail palm

Question
I am planting a fish tail palm in my front yard...I would like suggestions as to what other shrubs, ect, to plant with the palm so it is a grouping rather than a single palm. I live in central florida, space is not a problem and it site is full sun.
thank you...

Answer
There are many plants that would work. You need to decide if you want color, texture changes, natural look, formal look, etc. Without knowing these things its hard to give you specific advice.
Fishtail is very loose almost wild looking palm, so contrasting it with a tight formal hedge plant could be interesting. On the other hand a loose planting on native plants might also work. It all depends on your landscape style, architecture, and the surroundings.
Ixora spp., African Iris, Philodendron Selloum, Plumbago and loropetalum spp. will all work well.

Good Luck
