Philodendron - the non climbing one!

Question
Help, this indoor plant is beautiful, but there are too many plant stems with leaves sticking into the living room at this stage - I feel the plant is taking over the room!  Question, can I cut a couple of the stems with leaves back to the main stem without killing the plant?
Yolande

Answer
Yolande,

Absolutely! You can prune it back to shape it to please you as long as you don't cut through the main trunk of the plant. When you cut those off you may be able to easily root them by dipping the cuttings in rooting hormone and inserting it into a pot of fresh potting soil. Treat it just like you do the parent plant and it should have roots within 3 weeks. Good luck.
