i want to get rid of this plant, it is taking over, the first one i cut down and then removed all the roots, it was tremendous work, had to add top soil as it removed a lot of dirt.  Is there an easier way?

If you are not in a hurry you can keep cutting off the top and gradually the roots will die. If there is nothing else close to the plant you can use Round-Up and spray it. That will kill it in short order, roots and all. If other plants are nearby you may kill them too with overspray from the Round-Up. You can puor some Round-Up in a bowl and use a paint brush to paint it on and that will prevent the overspray problem.

Otherwise digging it out is your fastest and least harmful method of eliminating the plant. If I can answer more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
