Question
I have just inherited a jade tree/plant. Anyway, some limbs fell off during transport, now a week and half later the main stock which is to 4 inch around on top is dieting its rotting on the inside and i need to know how to stop it??? please help everyday its worse do i cut it??? its in a huge pot the water can flush threw its by my big baywindow like at its other home and i even added a grow light by it nothing is helping.

Answer
Dave,

You did not say how often you are watering it? Stop watering it totally. Do not water it at all untill it seems stable or until at least a month has passed then only water enough that the surface of the soil feels lightly moist and there is no water in the drain tray. Do not water it until it has been very dry for 10 days.  Jades come from the plains of South Africa where they are in the blazing sun all day long and they get very little rain.  If you duplicate that it will slowly become healthier. Good luck.
