Plants for work

Question
Hi i work in the office at a coal mine and want to add some female touch to my work space. I figured a plant would be perfect but i dont have a green thumb and i'm not here on weekends to water it. Whats a really pretty plant i can keep in my office that flowers but doesn't require daily watering?

Answer
Hi Stacy,

I live in a big city far from any coal mines, so pardon if my question is a bit ignorant. Is your office above ground where you get lots of natural sunlight? If not, then the only flowering plants that would survive under fluorescent lights alone are African Violets and Peace Lilies.

If your office does have natural sunlight, then I need to know just how far from the window the plant would be located and which direction the window faces.

Most plants do not need or want daily watering unless they are in very tiny pots of 3-inches or less. Most plants that are in pots of 6-inches or larger can go about a week in between waterings. Tell me what size plant you have mind.

I look forward to this additional information so I can  better help you.
