Please help me identify my plant

Question

What_is_this_plant
Hi,

I'm hoping you can help me figure out what this plant is.  I've had it for about 10 years and it's now almost 12 feet tall.  I've collected two "babies" from it in a rather bumbling way and it's just thriving!  It's a hardy, healthy part of my family.

Answer
Linda,

Your plant is a Yucca elephantipes, also known as the spineless or soft-tipped yucca, is a small evergreen tree reaching around 9 meters in the wild, but it is usually smaller in cultivation. It has a thick, branching trunk that settles at the base with appears like an elephant抯 foot and leaves that can grow up to 4 feet long.  Under optimum conditions like spring and autumn, the spineless yucca produces white, bell-shaped flowers in large panicles.

The Spineless Yucca plant grows at a moderate pace reaching a height of up to 20 feet or even taller in ideal conditions. Although it is adaptable to even extreme conditions like drought and frosty conditions, this majestic landscaping plant can also be grown indoors.

The following website will give you complete indoor care instructions: http://www.plant-care.com/yucca-plant.html     It lookss like you are doing a great job with it. Good luck!
