Growing Basil

Question
Hi,
I am growing basil in a pot outside.  (I live in Florida)
I also planted mint and lavender in the same pot.
It looks healthly, except there are large holes in some of the upper leaves. Lavender looks fine, but the bottom mint leaves are being eaten too. I don't see any insects.  What do you think the problem is?
Thanks

Answer
Betty:
First thing is to remove mint from pot. It will choke out others for soil & nutrients. There is a worm that will do this & sluggs.Give your basil a separate pot too. It loves the heat and must be cut every 3 weeks. Start from the top down on each branch. Take 1/3 or down to the last pair of leaves. Cut 1/4" above the last pair. This will produce 2 new pair  of branches every time your make this cut. Lavendr likes powdered lime. Add 1 tablespoon now & each spring.
