Fungus on and around Basil

Question
cotton mould
cotton mould
Hello I live in England is cold an wet at the moment an I have been growing some store bought basil in a pot for the last six months it has been doing really well. We survived a bug infestation and two pot relocations to have a much bigger basil plant than anyone would have thought from supermarket basil. However now it has mould like cotton growing at the base of each plant and the pot itself what should I do? I think its to much water. Can I just leave it an let it dry out or do I need to take some more affirmative action?

Thanks for any help you can give

Answer
Matthew:
It has a fungus. My memory just went blank on the name. I believe it can be too much water or too damp. Basil needs lots of sun and heat to do well. It does get finicky at times when growing indoors. Go to web site"Gardensalive.com", they have natural products that you can use.
