nepenthes spathulata

Question
hey guys,
i have this N. spathulata for close to two years and it hasn't developed any pitcher. it's growing the leaves, but when the vines get to be 1 inch or so it stops growing.it really sucks, because i got cutting from the mother plant and all the cuttings are starting to grow.and if i can't grow the mother plant, why did I cut her. PLEASE HELP!

thank you very much
PS your N. Caesar that i got from you guy i AWESOME. thanks again

Answer
Hi Guillermo,

We've never grown Nepenthes spathulata, but we have grown N. x Judith Finn which is a hybrid between spathulata and veitchii.  Judith Finn is notoriously slow growing, and seems to like it more humid.  This is probably just a case of giving it time.  This is another plant that may be a terrarium candidate so you can increase the humidity some.

Glad you like the Caesar.  They are great plants.

Good Growing!
