Heliamphora growing question

Question
Allexpert,

I have a question concerning the Heliamphora plant.  What can you do if you decide not to grow the plant[Heliamphora] in a Terrarium?  Can the plant grow in normal household conditions ,and under florescent lights?  In terms of watering the plant do you have to water the plant every day?   As always thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Weylin

Answer
Yes, it's definitely possible to grow this plant under fluorescent lights without a terrarium.  However, you will need to accept lots of minor leaf imperfections as a result of large changes in  humidity.  The most notable imperfection is lack of nectar spoon located at the top of the pitcher.  This feature is universally absent when humidity is inconsistent.  Other imperfections include browning around the edges and malformed pitchers.  Of course, results will vary depending on your particular microclimate in your home.  Some growers tend to have humid homes because of the number of plants they already grow.  If this is the case for you, then these issues might not even occur.

Good growing!
