My son is working on science homework and his question is:  Do plants with more leaves grow faster than plants without leaves?

I really don't do homewor. Besides I'mm in my 50's and it has been a long time sch=ince I have been in school so I am not sure what they are going for and you didn't say what grade we are taling about. The quick answer would be yes, but I don't beleive the leaves are the cause. Cacti do not have leaves and they grow very slowly. Trees have leaves and most grow fairly fast. It has more to do with the type of plant than it does the leaves. Good luck with his science class.
