S. oreophila seeds

Question
Jeff,

I just harvested a couple of S. oreophila seed pods from some of my own plants...the seed pods were brown and they had split open. Do you think it would be a good idea to let the seeds air dry for a few days before stratifying them?

I didn't realize that there would be so many seeds in a single pod!

Many thanks,

Derick

Answer
There's no reason to air dry the seeds or age them before stratifying them.  They're ready to be soon immediately after harvest.  For information about stratifying Sarracenia seeds, watch Volume 1 of the Grow Carnivorous Plants DVD series.
