sarracenia leucophylla I just purchased

Question
Just received my bare root sarracenia leucophylla from you. I live in columbus ohio and the weather is still cold. We will have freezing weather before spring hits. I have my flytraps in a refridgerator for the winter. Can I put this in with it until safe to plant in a pot and keep outside for spring, summer and fall? If I can refrigerate, what prep should I do to it before placing it in the fridge.Thank you very much...Gary

Answer
Hi Gary,

You can store the rhizome in the fridge for up to 45 days.  The rhizomes were dipped in a sulfur solution so they should be fine as is.  Check them (and your flytraps) weekly just to make sure you don't have any mold trying to grow.  Re-treat with fungicide if needed.  There should be a sheet in the box your plants came in that talk about care for the rhizomes too.

Good Growing!
