ANSWER: Hi Linda,  I am in Florida, however, I grew a weeping cherry in PA when I lived there.  It is susceptible to borers.  I took a sewing needle and poked it into the sap and this kills the borer.  I would also suggest a product called Atomic Grow which brings your tree back to health by raising the brix or sugar in the tree.  I have cats and dogs and am very careful not to use poison.  Atomic Grow is made from food so it will not hurt you new pooch.  It is sprayed on and  absorbs into the leaf and works its way to the roots.  It will keep the borers out.  I just got through spraying an Erythrina which borers love.  I cut off the dead branch, it had no leaves left, put some on the ground and watered it in and in about a week new beautiful healthy branches are appearing.  kathy

QUESTION: where do i poke the sap it in 2 spoty its leaking from a not just above the crack in the tree or the ball of sap at the base of the trunk.i keep removing that amber colored sap ball and there doesnt seem to be anything there I already put bayre systemic tree care wich say use only once a year and bio tone for healthy root system.and prayrd pesticide on the leaves and crack in bark,,what is the brix in sugar ive never heard of that..the sap ball keeps comming back is that where the boar is,,can barely see any hole or anything..thanks again  Linda what to use to help this from happening again..

Answer
Hi Linda, Poke it all around the sappy area to kill the worm if there is one in there.  The brix is sugar made from food.  Corn, soy, potatoes grain and cactus.  It is sprayed on the leaves, bark if you have problems with the bark and ground if you have bugs in the ground.  What is does is what they told you to do above in one concentrate bottle, saving you a lot of money by not having to buy three different products.  It does not go bad and being made from food does not harm the Earth or you.  kathy
