weeeping cherry tree

Question
our tree is 15 yrs old. had a few problems with sap weeping from trunk and leaf growth thinning over the past couple of years.  treated it with systemic for bores.  the problem is  all other weeping cherries in my area are now flowering and my tree has nothing..  very small buds on branches only.  looks dead but when i bread a thin branch it is seems alive inside.  any thoughts?

Answer
Hi Mary,  The sap coming from the tree is borers and I would take a sewing needle and stick it into the sap to kill the worm inside.  When I lived up North that is what I did and it works without poison.  Also use a slow release fertilizer to help your tree regain its life again...kathy
