winter moths

Question
Last spring my flowering crabapple never bloomed. All of its buds and many/most leaves were eaten by what is eing called winter moths. I live in a suburb of Boston. My question is when is the best time to treat for this and what should be done? I saw the moths flying around last Deember and expect to see them again this year.
thanks, Louise

Answer
HI Louise,

This is really outside my area of expertise, but I did find a very educational website about the Winter Moth.  Please take a look.  The site gives information about the life cycle of the moth and some control measures.  Good Luck.
