indoor orange and avocado plants

Question
I have a potted orange tree with the "old" leaves curling up. The leaves are not falling off or discoloring. Actually some of the lower leaves are yellowing, but not very many. The new growth seems to be doing fine. What could cause this?

I also have a potted avocado tree and all the leaves are turning brown and curling up and falling off. The dropped leaves seem very stiff. Please help.

Answer
Hi Laura...Citrus sheds about 3/4 of its leaves then sends out its blooms and new leaves this time of year.  So it sounds to me like it is doing its natural thing as you say the new growth is doing fine.

Your avocado will loose its leaves this time of year also, as it is deciduous.  I am not an expert on indoor plants but can say for sure this is what is happening to the citrus out doors this time of year.  kathy

The avocado leaves turn brown crinkle and fall off...
