name of plants and care

Question
I bought two plants without any information about them.  One is a bare thick stack with corn like leaves coming out of it.  It is tall and the leaves are wide and varigated green.  Another has thin stalks with spike like clusters of leaves coming out of them.  The leaves are dark green with red along the edges.  Could you tell me what these plants are and how to care for them.  I don't have the ability to send you pictures.  Sorry.  If this is not possible to do with just the description, I understand.  Bev

Answer
Hi Bev,

Your brief descriptions seem to hone in on the salient characteristics so I am quite sure that your plants are Dracaena massangeana cane (corn plant) and Dracaena marginata.

Please confirm these ID's by finding images online. Then I will provide care instructions for you.
