Calamondin Orange

Question
I think my Citrus Calamondin has some sort of disease, up until 3 months ago it was a healthy 3 foot specimen with many fruits and healthy leaves. Now it appears to be covered in a sticky substance (both the leaves and fruits), there are very fine cobwebs on the branches and both the fruit and leaves are dropping. I've noted some of the leaves have a deformed shape and the leaf veins can now be seen as the colour fades to yellowish-green. I feed the plant with specific citrus tree food once every ten days. What do I need to do to treat it and what is it? Pleas help, this is my favourite plant! Thanks in advance. Kind Regards, Emily

Answer
Hi Emily..the problem is being caused by bugs sucking the life out of your plant.  You will need an insecticidal spray, like Neem to rid your plant of this problem.  It will also help your blooms if you also have a fungus on it.  I also question the use of fertilizer every ten days.  Seems very extreme to me.  Try a slow release that you put on maybe only a few times a year.
