Gardenia

Question
It's getting cold at night so I've decided to take my gardenia plant indoors. Before i took it in, i sprayed it with insecticide and wash the leaves. Now i noticed that the new baby leaves are curling and misshapen. I also see some kind of powdery crap on top of the leaves. I do not see bugs on it. HELP PLS. WHAT SHLD. I DO>
MANY THANKS!

Answer
Hi Marilou, the product that you used may have harmed the leaves, or you did not notice it prior.  You plant probably has aphids which is causing the stuff on the leaves and you may find some ants on it too.  I use Atomic Grow, which is organic and safe to use indoors.  It is made from food, mixed with water and sprayed on your plant.  When your plant is healthy bugs go somewhere else.  You can use it on all your plants.  kathy
