Fungi


Question
Bogie had mites that we solved with you help. Now the same plant appears to have a fungi, black spots on the leaves and both flowers and leaves falling from the plant. HELP!

Hi Joseph... Maintaining dry foliage is the primary control measure. The pathogen is spread by water splash, handling, and avoidance of overhead irrigation
will minimize chances of disease outbreaks. Good sanitation and removal of infected leaves and/or plants from the
growing area reduces the risk of infecting healthy plants. In frost-free climates where bougainvillea is perennial, disease
incidence drops during cool and/or dry weather.  Last but not least overwatering can cause leaf drop.  The neem spray should protect your plant as it is a fungicide and miticide.  kathy

You dont say if it is in a pot or I missed it...it maybe time to move it into the next size pot if it is in one.  kathy
