Infestation

Question
I live on the North Eastern side of PA, and I have an indoor mini rose plant.  It has been growing very nicely since I got it in February, but recently I noticed a sort of cob webbing that bridges from one section of the plants leaves to the other, there are also tiny lite brown colored "things" inside the webbing and on the underside of the small leaves. When I first noticed it I just thought a spider had made a web there and I dusted it off. In a few days all of the leaves were dried up but the stem of the plant remained green. If I am sure to dust off the webbing and remove all the brown "spots" the leaves do not dry up, however, they are discolored. Once I removed the dead leaves the plant quickly recoverd, it is still shooting out new leaves.  What is this and how do I get rid of it?

Answer
Sounds like spider mites. These can easily be controlled with an insecticide. Check with your local nursery/garden type store for an insecticide for spider mite control. Here are a couple of web sites that will give more information on spidermites and their control. http://www.bmi.net/roseguy/gbspmite.html
