Trumpet Angel

Question
This plant is only about 3 feet high but it has already gotten 2 beautiful flowers on it.  Oh, that's the good news BUT, the leaves have holes in them and have been eaten away around the outside of the leaves also.  What is eating it?  Someone thought snails, that only come out at night.  I have not seen anything on these leaves.  The little noles or geckos are climbing on, so, would they be the reason?

Answer
It is probably most likely slugs which do come out at night.  I have similar situation with my angel trumpets.  My experience has been that they will not eat too much of the foliage.  The plant requires a lot of nitrogen fertilizer and will make a lot of succulent leaves.  You may try a little slug bait on the soil below the plant and see if the feeding ceases.  They will not kill the plant even in the worse case scenario.  Good Luck.
