diagnosis of disease?

Question
The plants in my yard have some type of disease that stunts the growth or is making the leaves shrink.  The leaves on top look minature to the bush.  I live in Phoenix and it is affecting all the plants in the yard:  oleanders, lantana and others I can't recall the name of at this time.

Answer
Stunted growth and small leaves is almost always a sign of stress in a plant. The stress could be caused by unfavorable weather conditions, compacted soil or root nematodes. If the soil around your plants is not compacted of unusually dry, take a soil sample from a few locations around these plants and have it tested for soil nematodes. You can get instructions on how to do this and where to send your samples from your county's extension service or a local garden center.
