Fox Tail Palm suffering

Question
I have three fox tail palm trees that were hit badly by frost and cold weather for a week here in central Florida.  They are about 18 ft tall, planted in sun.  After the frost all the fronds are dead, the trunks are weeping and there seem to be small holes with a pulpy type string coming out of them all around the trunks.  I did cover the base of the trunks and that area does not have the pulpy string activity.  I know time will tell if the heart of the tree is still alive with the dead fronds and weeping, but I'm wondering if the small holes and pulpy secretions are a sign of not being able to save the trees.

Answer
Hi Elaine, If the main frond in the center of your palm, 18 ft in the air is dead it is dead, If there is any green you need to get up there and remove all the dead fronds by pulling them out and then  use a fungicide to kill any fungus growing in where the culms were that you pullout.  It does not sound very hopeful.  kathy
